Brooklyn Art Song Society’s 2012-2013 Season Opening Night
Brooklyn Art Song Society (BASS) is proud to announce its 2012-2013 season opener- part one of its four-part series Schubert: The Last Year. The program features three masterful piano four-hand works alongside some of the composer’s most beloved lieder. From charming songs like Die Sterne to the dramatic and monumental Fantasy in f minor, this concert displays the amazing emotional range of Schubert’s music. Artists include BASS regulars Michael Brofman (artistic director) and Miori Sugiyama- both praised as “excellent pianists” by the New York Times for their performance of Charles Ives complete songbook. Pianist-composer Michael Djupstrom makes his BASS debut and baritone Kyle Oliver sings in his first BASS performance since becoming a resident artist at Pittsburgh Opera. Also, as part of a new partnership with www.livlivemusic.com this concert will be streamed live at www.LivLiveMusic.com/BrooklynConservatory. Be sure not to miss this exciting event.
